Although studies published by Christian Novel Studies were designed to be used by homeschooling families, many parents and teachers have successfully used them in co-ops and classrooms. If you are considering using a CNS guide in a classroom setting, please check out the sample guides to make sure the format will work for you ( Sample 1, Sample Guide). As you can see from the samples, room is not provided for a student to write on the guide and copyright restrictions do not allow copies to be made (see below). CNS suggests that you choose a one or more of the following suggestions for implementing these guides with multiple students: 1) Initiate oral discussions and give oral instructions for activities/projects, 2) write questions/activities on a chalk board/white board and instruct students write answers on notebook paper or in a notebook, 3) purchase reproducible sheets (the sheets contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities and are designed for use with multiple students; the sheets are available for many guides and more are continuing to be developed; check with CNS for current availability), 4) request written permission from CNS to create overheads (see the copyright restrictions printed below), 5) if multiple students are working independently, have the guide available on a table so it is accessible during work times.
Note: If, after reviewing the five ideas presented above, you decide that it would work better for each of your students to have a guide of his/her own, contact CNS with the number of students and with a description of your circumstances. These situations will be handled on an individual basis.
