AMERICA -- An Integrated Curriculum

BOOK and PRICE LIST

     CNS has received numerous requests for individual guides for books used in the America program, so guides have been created for many of the titles. As you scroll through the book list, you will see that many books have links; a guide is available for each book for which a link is provided. If you are interested in a guide that isn’t currently available, contact CNS -- we may be able to put a title higher on our list of priorities when we receive requests.
     If the title you request isn’t a book for which CNS has plans to create a mini-guide, we can “pull out” from America the questions and activities related to that book (the price for doing this is $2.00).  At this point, a
“pull-out guide” has been created -- and is now available -- for one book (Soft Rain -- A Story of the Cherokee Trail of Tears). Note:  Allow at least two weeks for a new “pull-out” to be created. 
     Another item people often request from the America curriculum is the extended reading list.  The list (plus more resources) is now available as a Basic Booklet: A Treasure Chest of American History Resources.   

Notes for America users:  Most of the reading books and the magazine should be available in public libraries or through an interlibrary loan.  I suggest that you purchase the Marshall/Manuel children's books (Year 1) and Great Stories in American History (Year 2) because you will use each of them for many weeks.
     As you scan the book list, you will see that at times students in all reading levels are reading the same books; at other times they are reading different books.
     Some of the books are out of print and are available only to America purchasers. E-mail or call CNS before placing an order to check on availability.
