A number of years ago I read the adult version of The Light and the Glory
by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wondered, "Why weren't history textbooks this interesting when I was a student?" I was thrilled when the children's
versions came out and I have used them extensively with my daughters. In 1996 my husband and I began our home business - Christian Novel Studies. I started by writing and
publishing literature study guides for Dave & Neta Jackson's popular TRAILBLAZER books. When I had written guides for all of their published books, I began to look for other ways to combine literature
and history. Since Peter Marshall and David Manuel's writing depicts history in a fascinating way, I realized thieir books would be a good structure for a history-based literature study. Three unit
studies, each focusing on one of Marshall/Manuel's children's books, are now available. Three more 11-weeks studies are now available (see the titles listed below). The six 11-week
studies will form an American history program from 1492-2001 that will take approximately two years to complete.
Part IV: "May God Thy Gold Refine" -- 1860-1900Part V: "'Til All Success Be Nobleness" -- 1900-1940 Part VI: "And Every Gain Be Divine" -- 1940-2001
